Kyle’s Official 2018 Playoff Predictions

Who will raise the Lombardi Trophy this year?

NFC Playoff Picture

  1. Los Angeles Rams
  2. Green Bay Packers
  3. New Orleans Saints
  4. Dallas Cowboys
  5. Atlanta Falcons
  6. Minnesota Vikings

SAINTS > Vikings

FALCONS > Cowboys

PACKERS > Saints

PACKERS > Falcons

This is the year the Packers put it all together. Every year it seems like Aaron Rodgers and the Pack are a piece or two away from bringing the Lombardi back to Title Town, USA. Jimmy Graham is a huge piece that will shore up Red Zone woes. Injuries at RB are a question mark early in the season but expect Ty Montgomery & Co. to figure things out in a big way. The Falcons will bounce back from an overall poor follow up to a trip to the Super Bowl by making it to the NFC Championship, but Matty Ice will make a crucial mistake late in the game and succumb to the Green and Yellow.

  1. Pittsburgh Steelers
  2. Los Angeles Chargers
  3. New England Patriots
  4. Indianapolis Colts
  5. Oakland Raiders
  6. Houston Texans

COLTS > Raiders

CHARGERS > Patriots

CHARGERS > Steelers

The AFC seems to come down to Pittsburgh or New England every single year. The amount of consistency in those two programs hasn’t been seen since the Bills lost 4 straight Super Bowls. This year will be a little different. I’m not the first to say it, but I’m the first to believe it. The end of the Patriots begins now. They will win the East because that division is a joke. But Tommy Time will regress. Bill’s decisions to get rid of the best players on the defense (see Chandler Jones, Malcolm Butler, Jaime Collins) will finally begin to show he wallpaper beneath the paint, and it isn’t pretty. Phil Rivers will become the new sheriff in town and after a long and consistent career of his own, will finally make the Super Bowl. Big Ben will suffer a lower body injury of some sort, and the Steelers won’t have enough to beat the Chargers in January.

PACKERS > Chargers

All hail the greatest quarterback of all time. The most skilled, the most athletic, the best arm, and most of all, the affinity to make ridiculous and insane plays to win games (see Hail Mary 1.0, 2.0, and sideline throw to Jared Cook to beat the Cowboys 2 years ago). His defense hasn’t been able to sustain him, and a weak offense over line has led to injuries that derailed him. But not this year. A classic Super Bowl between ‘cowboy’ quarterbacks will be won on a final drive by Phillip Rivers. He won’t win it though, he will lose it with an end zone INT on 4th and goal and the Packers will become Title Town heroes once again, 38-33.
